How to add a link to your Favorite Hawaiian Music Page
Stevo's Hawaiian Music Guide is continually being updated with
links to new Hawaiian Music Web sites. If you would like your Hawaiian
Music Site linked to this site, or if you have found another interesting
Hawaiian Music Site not currently linked to this site, please send your
"add" request to
stevo@hawaii-music.com.
There is no charge for adding a link. The purpose of this site is to
share useful information on Hawaiian Music to the world, and to let others
experience the beautiful sounds and incredible talent of Hawaiian
Musical Artists.
How to Add an Announcement to our News Ticker
If you are a Promoter, Producer, or Artist of Hawaiian Music, you can announce
your Hawaiian Music event or CD on the News Ticker at the top of our
main page. There is no cost for this service. Stevo's Hawaiian Music Guide is used by thousands of
Hawaiian Music Fans from around the world every month. This is an excellent
way to get the word out to a large number of people. In order to make this
service successful, we ask you to follow these guidelines:
- Only announcements related to Hawaiian Music will be accepted. We retain the
right to reject any message and will let you know if there is a reason that we will
not post your announcement.
- Please only send us announcements that will interest a large number of people.
For example, the Long Beach Aloha Concert Jam or Oahu Makaha Bash would interest
a large number of people, but a gig in a local club would only interest a few people.
This will allow the News Ticker to be more interesting to a larger audience.
- The announcement that you send us should be broken into 2 parts:
- Header Line - A SHORT eye-catching title (40-50 characters or less). This will appear
on the first line of the ticker in a bold moroon font.
- Details Line - A SHORT description of your event, CD, etc. (less than
85 characters). Feel free to include a website or contact if it makes sense
(a hyperlink will not work inside the ticker...this may be a future enhancement).
- If you send a message that is too long for the ticker, we'll send you a quick message
asking you to shorten it.
- Send your announcement to
stevo@hawaii-music.com and start the
subject of your e-mail with the word 'ANNOUNCE'.
About this site
Stevo's Hawaiian Music Guide has been online almost 9 years and was
one of the first Hawaiian Music Sites on the Web.
This site has gone through incredible growth since going online in
February 1996.
At that time there were only a few sites sharing information
on Hawaiian Music. Keola Beamer, Don Ho, and a couple other artists were
breaking new ground by putting personal Home pages online.
The Guide has undergone major revisions several times each year.
The first version of the site was on a single web page. Now the
site contains dozens of pages of useful information.
The Hawaiian Music Guide was originally set up to provide useful links and information
to Hawaiian Music Fans and to people outside of Hawaii who wish to keep
up on the Hawaiian Music Scene.
The goal has remained the same and the page has continued to grow! We have had visitors from
every continent (except fo' dat cold one at da bottom of da globe) and
every state in the U.S.A.
Mahalo to all the musicians, producers, music distributors, DJ's and others
that have contributed to this page! Thanks also to the dozens of people
from around the world who have sent kind messages and recommendations
for improvements. This site is for you. Mahalo!
